Owls

Found this gorgeous scarf on Etsy.com. I love the color and I love the owls! The owl image has been done through a silkscreen. The fabric is 100% Sheer Jersey cotton. So you know it's going to be super soft. Here in Florida we don't get many reasons to wear scarves but lately it's been eerily cold so I've had to break out the scarves and I would love to add this one to my collection!

OMG. SNOW.

Just had to share this...because I live here. In Florida....where the last time it snowed was in 1996. I was 9 years old. Wow. I REALLY want it to snow Thursday night. I want this possibility to increase dramatically. I will stay up all night if I have to just to see this happen.

Oh for the love of cameras...

There is nothing I love more than a manual camera. Digital what? Now, I will never give up my Sony Alpha A300k but nothing makes me swoon like a good ol' manual.

Here we have a Twin Lens Reflex Holga Camera sold by Urban Outfitters. Everyone sigh in joy now. Isn't it just beautiful? Here is the description provided by Urban Outfitters: Quick reflexes. Taking dreamlike, vibrant photos, this 120 format Twin Lens Reflex camera from Holga captures images with a multiple exposure effect using 2 lenses - making anything you shoot an instant piece of art. Pop-up waist-level viewfinder that can also be used as a standard viewfinder; built-in flash; lead shutter speed of 1/100 seconds; ISO 21 or 27; adjustable focus; tripod mounting socket. Imported. Wipe clean.
* Takes 2 AA batteries for flash, not included
* 120mm film, not included
* 5"w, 3"d, 3.5"h
* Plastic

I myself have never owned a Holga, but I have drooled over them a time or two. I really want to get my hands on this baby and take it for a spin...or shoot...or something.

I may be saying Happy Valentines Day to myself with this.

What better way to say "I love you"

than with a Dismember-Me Plush Zombie.

From ThinkGeek.com you can have this cute little creature for $12.99...once they are back in stock. That's right. A zombie you can dismember is out of stock. What happened to roses and candies for Valentines Day? I don't know, but I'm glad to see them kicked to the curb. As a geek at heart, I would love to receive this as a gift. Questioning my sanity? It's probably for the best.

ThinkGeek.com's description:

"What happens when you take old broken plush toys and bury them in the woods by the light of the full moon while whistling the theme song from "Halloween"? Unfortunately nothing...which is why the skillful design monkeys here at ThinkGeek were forced to come-up with our own scary (but cute) zombie plush.

The Dismember-Me Plush Zombie begs to be torn limb from limb. After all he is a decaying re-animated corpse turned into irresistible cuddly plush. Rip off an arm... he doesn't mind. Tear him in half.. he'll barely notice. Pull off his legs... ok now he's getting a bit annoyed. Steal his brain... now you've really done it. Keep your teddy bears under close guard tonight because undead plush have come back from hell to walk the earth."

fist discovery

Starting a new blog of things I discover whilst surfing the internet. And what a fantastic way to start off with "Only the Best of Etsy."

http://grosgrainfabulous.blogspot.com/2010/02/only-best-of-etsy-sample-packages-guest.html

I will also have a link off to the side. Check it out! "Only the Best of Etsy" talks about sample packages you can order from Etsy. Each package comes with an assortment of items from different sellers on the website.

tidbit:
"Inside were 10 samples from various etsy sellers that Andrea had handpicked to include in her packages.
In each box Andrea chooses 10 samples from 10 etsy sellers. No two boxes are the same."
